Special considerations include environmental controls, supervised access and a research area. "The mandate of the Hinton Coal Branch Archives is to promote and encourage the appreciation and study of the history of Hinton and surrounding area by acquiring, preserving and making accessible to the public, records in any format which reflect the history of this area."
